The Vernon Parish Police Jury is accepting applications until Sept 30, 2008 for the following job position: PARISH ROAD SUPERVISOR Responsible for all the activities relating to the expansion, improvement and maintenance of the Parish Road System. Must have Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment utilized in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads and bridges. Knowledge of basic civil engineering, environmental regulations, policies and procedures required to administer the street maintenance division. Ability to plan, organize, and implement a construction and maintenance operation involving large numbers of both personnel and heavy construction equipment. Requirements include BS degree in Civil Engineering and proven experience in public works projects. Must have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of road construction experience. Ability to work effectively with Elected officials, Parish employees, and the general public.
